Dr. Zinder earned his medical degree from Ben Gurion University in Israel through their international program with Columbia University’s Medical School for International Health. After graduation, he trained in Internal Medicine, Primary Care in a residency program at NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn. He then undertook two separate fellowship trainings in Geriatric medicine at NYU Long Island, and Wound care and Hyperbaric medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In his own words, he says that “I am a primary care doctor by training, but I’ve found my passion as a healer in the field of poorly healing wounds.” He emphasizes the importance of wound care on your overall health and well-being, no matter what your age group. He serves as an outspoken advocate for wound care prevention and early treatment.
Roman Zinder, MD, CWSP is a fellowship trained, Certified Wound Specialist Physician recognized by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM).
Before joining Wound Edge Medical in Brooklyn, Dr. Zinder held leadership roles in some of the region’s top medical institutions. For over three years he served as the Division Chief of the Center for Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric in the Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Prior to that, for almost three years, he was the Medical Director of the Wound Healing Program in the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York.
Dr. Zinder is a member of Wound Healing Society (WHS), American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA), Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).
