Wound Care Services

What Wound Care Services Do We Provide?

After Dr. Zinder assesses your wound, he develops an overall customized wound management plan using the most effective medical approaches. Be sure to tell the doctor about all your known health conditions so he can customize an appropriate treatment for your wounds. Basic wound care treatments occur in the office and include:

  • Removal of necrotic tissue in and around your wound (debridement)
  • Specialized dressings to adequately protect the wound and provide a moist healing environment
  • Topical therapies to encourage healing
  • Compression garments to promote blood flow
  • Wound dressing changes, as directed

At Wound Edge Clinic, we specialize in diagnosing and managing moderately complicated acute wounds, from abrasions and skin tears to uncomplicated burns. We also offer effective outpatient treatment for challenging chronic wounds. Our more advanced wound care modalities include:

  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (commonly known as a “wound VAC”)
  • A total contact cast for diabetic foot ulcers and other wounds on the bottom of the foot
  • Cellular or tissue-based products, such as skin substitutes
  • Micro-autografting to promote wound healing
  • Epidermal harvesting to graft healthy tissue onto a damaged area

Dr. Zinder emphasizes the importance of early treatment and wound care prevention. Our staff provides supportive care and educational services to ensure you heal properly and avoid any relapses. These services include:

  • Frequent follow-up appointments to check the progress of your healing and to avoid any potential issues
  • Wound care education and counseling
  • Home health referrals to get in-home care for eligible patients
  • Nutritional counseling
